Split PDF

Break a PDF into separate files — one per page, or by the page ranges you specify. It all runs in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.

To split a PDF, add your file, choose one-PDF-per-page or custom page ranges, click Split, and download the pieces — processed in your browser.

How to use Split PDF

  1. 1Add the PDF you want to split.
  2. 2Choose 'one PDF per page', or enter custom ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  3. 3Click Split PDF; the pages are extracted on your device.
  4. 4Download each piece, or download them all as a ZIP.

How it works

Add your PDF, choose whether to split every page into its own file or extract custom ranges like “1-3, 5, 8-10”, then download the results individually or as a ZIP.

Each range you enter becomes its own PDF, so you can carve a document into exactly the pieces you need.

Split by page or by range

“One PDF per page” is ideal when you need every page separately. Custom ranges are perfect for pulling a chapter, a signed section, or a single form out of a larger file.

The tool shows the document's page count so you always know the valid range.

Why split locally

Splitting often involves sensitive documents — contracts, medical records, bank statements. Doing it in the browser means those pages are never uploaded to a third party.

There's no watermark and no cap on how many pieces you can create.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser using your device's own processor. Your images never leave your computer or phone, and nothing is stored on our servers.

How do I extract specific pages?

Choose “Custom ranges” and enter something like “2-4, 7”. Each comma-separated range becomes its own PDF, so “2-4, 7” produces one file with pages 2–4 and another with page 7.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

The tool can open many restricted PDFs, but truly encrypted files that require a password to open can't be split until they're unlocked in your PDF reader first.

Is the original file changed?

No. Splitting creates new PDF files and leaves your original untouched on your device.

Is it free, and are there limits?

It's completely free with no account required. Because processing happens on your device, there's no per-file upload limit — the practical ceiling is your device's available memory. You can batch many files and download them as a single ZIP.
